FAQs

Why do some places show no years?

A marker appears only when we have coordinates and at least one indexed record range available. Some places may be planned or in progress.

Do listed years mean every year is indexed?

The map now shows the actual indexed year spans currently available for each place and record type. If there are gaps in coverage, the years are separated into multiple spans, such as 1801–1818, 1820–1836, 1870–1873.

Something looks wrong—how can I report it?

Please contact us with the parish/village name and what you noticed. Corrections help everyone and keep the map trustworthy.
