Updates to the Galician Poles Family Tree

The Galician Poles Family Tree continues to grow and now includes 65,833 individuals.

Recent updates include improvements to how records and sources are displayed, making it easier to:

  • View linked records directly within a person’s profile
  • Navigate between families and generations
  • Explore connections across parishes and regions

This continues to evolve into a more complete research companion alongside the main databases.

New Research Center Article

A new article was published in the Research Center:

This piece explores the often-overlooked military parish system (Militärmatriken) and how these records can explain why individuals seem to disappear from local parish registers. For many researchers, this is a key missing layer when traditional searches come up empty.

Coverage Map

As always, the Coverage Map remains one of the most useful tools on the site.

It allows you to:

  • See which villages and parishes have indexed records
  • View available year ranges across birth, marriage, and death records
  • Identify gaps and next research steps visually

As more data is added, the map continues to become a clearer representation of what survives—and what doesn’t—in the historical record.

Looking Ahead

The focus remains the same: more records, better tools, and clearer pathways to finding your family in Galicia.

Happy Researching!
